Best Burgers in Canberra

The Canberra foodie scene is ever growing and is home to some great food establishments. That includes burger joints. Rating the best burgers in Canberra doesn’t just end with the burgers, it’s the whole experience. It’s how it all tastes; the beef patty, the cheese, the special sauce and the fries. It is also the service and the time you spend dining at the burger joint.

Canberran’s are serious about their burgers. Even to the point where some locals will go and try out every single burger joint and provide a rating based on their experience. We’ve broken down our top favourites for burgers across the Canberra region.

Their most talked about burger at BZ Burgers is their classic cheeseburger which is then closely followed by their brisket cheeseburger. These burgers are American influenced and include American cheese either in slices or liquid form. Each meal includes chips on the side. Portions at BZ Burgers are generous but not too much for one to eat and their burger buns are soft brioche buns that you will love. Top recommendation

The top two favourites at Mookie are their crispy chicken burger and their classic Mookie burger. The crispy chicken burger includes buttermilk southern fried chicken, homemade kewpie slaw and chilli mayo. It’s a burger that is full of flavour and doesn’t fall apart in your hands. The classic Mookie burger is a beef burger that includes Australian wagyu beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, Portuguese jam and topped off with confit black garlic aioli. Using quality ingredients, we recommend you add an extra patty to this one to make it extra delicious. A point of difference that Mookie does differently compared to the other shops that have the best burgers in Canberra is their potato gems that you can order as a side or on their own. We recommend pairing these gems with the special Mookie sauce.
